HAI FAASTeam Regional Safety Seminar, Texas

logo_haiHAI and the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) present a two-day safety seminar, June 1-2, 2012, in Irving, Texas.

The target audiences on the first day are commercial helicopter operators and pilots, and the target audiences for the second day are General Aviation helicopter pilots, certified helicopter flight instructors, and helicopter student pilots.

Australian helicopter industry growth tops 9% per annum or three times that of the Australian economy

In April 2012, Australian CASA Register data indicated the helicopter industry was growing at 9% pa. At present the fleet consists of 1,950 helicopters. At this rate of development, the fleet will be nudging 3,000 in five years. In 2008 the fleet numbered only 1,450 helicopters.

HAI Chairman takes Alexander amendment message to Congress

logo_haiHAI Chairman of the Board Mark Gibson, in Washington, D.C., recently for a series of meetings with members of Congress on a variety of issues, made sure they understand the dangers of the so-called Alexander amendment. The measure, attached to the Senate version of the highway transportation bill, would give the National Park Service nearly total unilateral control over airspace above National Parks.

HAI Welcomes New President of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.

logo_haiHAI bids farewell to president of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., Jeff Pino, who retires July 1 having served in the position since 2006. Pino will be succeeded by Mick Maurer, formerly president of Sikorsky Military Systems.

HAI Joins Call to Avoid Unintended Consequences

logo_haiHAI has joined the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in calling on Congress to avoid an overreaction to the Government Services Administration conference scandal – one that could ban almost all government employees from attending legitimate conferences. More than 2,000 other associations and individuals from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have also signed the ASAE letter, which was delivered to every congressional office on Monday, May 7.

Alaska Safety Workshop a Great Success
